Cambridge Science Centre is going ‘On The Road’ and is taking Hackney by storm from 18th – 22nd May 2015.
The ‘On The Road’ programme delivers the Cambridge Science Centre experience to local communities. For one week only the centre will be coming to Millfields Community School. As well as the great exhibits popping up in the school for a week, the ‘On The Road’ programme is staffed by a team of lively communicators who host science workshops and shows.
The people and schools of Cambridge have already given the Centre a massive stamp of approval, having welcomed over 50,000 visitors in its first 2 years of operation. Now with ‘On The Road’, the centre is able to engage children, families and teachers in any region, who may never have experienced the excitement of interactive science exhibitions, in order to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers.
“It's often only by giving something a go that we find out what we can do” said Cindy Forde, CEO Cambridge Science Centre. “That's why ‘On The Road’ is so important. We want young people, regardless of their location, to get a hands-on chance to see what they can do with maths, science and engineering and where it can take them.”
This is the first time Cambridge has had a mobile education resource like this and the ‘On The Road’ programme has already engaged over 7,000 children and young people across the country this year. Delivered by passionate science communicators who are guaranteed to wow and inspire young people, teachers and parents alike, the programme will continue to grow during 2015 and beyond.
Location: Millfields Community School, Hilsea Street, London, E5 0SH
Dates: 18th -22nd May
