It was 'Destination Space' for the city's next generation of scientists as they put their heads together to launch a rocket device into the rafters of one Cambridge's best known venues.
Dozens of youngsters turned out at the Corn Exchange to take part in the annual Chain Reaction event, organised by Cambridge Science Centre.
About 60 teams worked together to build a chain contraption linked together by string which was then launched at the end of the day by city MP Daniel Zeichner.
As well as building sections of the chain, families were also able to enjoy a host of demonstrations and experiments put on by the centre.
