Cambridge Science Centre

Sarah James

Centre Manager

With a medical degree (MBChB University of Birmingham 2008) and a masters in Clinical and Experimental Medicine (UCL 2012) I have strong interest in human biology. One of the things I really missed in medical research was interaction with the public and empowering people by explaining the science behind their medical condition.

Volunteering with Cambridge Hands on Science gave me a real insight into how important it is that children understand the science the world around them and how much fun it can be to teach them! My new role at the Cambridge science centre as a science communicator has enabled me to engage with the public of all ages and get involved in explaining everything from how you can exercise in microgravity to Newton’s laws of motion.
